The Dutch school programme

Led by: Bettina Markones

Marta Stapert and Jos van de Brand developed the Dutch school programme. I was able to gain some experiences with it in different classes and I want to report about it.
I found it helpful to develop some optional lessons for my own use. One of those is a very simple unit to get more familiar with finding a felt sense, sticking to it and symbolize it by drawing. I will do a part of this unit with you, so you’ll have your own experience and then we will discuss the possibilities we have with very simple exercises. Maybe we can collect such simple exercises in order to use them for our daily work.

Personalia

Bettina Markones: I’m a teacher for special needs and I’ve got a job counseling teachers, parents and help children with their individual difficulties. Teachers can invite me to introduce focusing in their classes or send children to me in order to make a diagnosis and also to help them. Teachers or parents can also come to me to get advices and counseling.
Besides that, I also work as a psychotherapist for children who need special support for their problems. Like this you have a lot more space and time to concentrate on the child than it is possible at school in a class.
I was trained and educated in focusing in the DAF (Deutsches Ausbildungsinstitut für Focusing und Focusingtherapie) and now work in this institute giving seminars for focusing with children.
