Led by: Kie Yano, from Japan
I was a kindergarten teacher for 20 years. Now I am a psychotherapist working in a psychiatric unit at a general hospital and a teacher in the college.
I will give a presentation at this conference, in which I will practice with the participants and explain the work which I did with students training to become kindergarten teachers. The aim of this work was to help the students to understand the feelings that children experience during childhood, and to think how to accompany children.
The procedure of the work “The Big Tree” is:
- draw a big tree on a large piece of paper
- recall their negative experiences during childhood and record these on tags
- listen to each other and place the tag on the tree
- image a container, draw it
- wrap the tags in an origami,
- and image to put the origami in the container.
It is important in this work that listening to each other and caring their own experiences.
