Presentations
If you are interested in giving a presentation on the subject of ‘Focusing with Children’ including problems you may have encountered, new methods you have discovered, experiences you want to share etc, please let us know. Send us the title and a short description of what you want to say, talk about, discuss or share and the technical requirements you might have (such as a TV, a Video, a Wall Projector/Video Projector).
We appreciate presentations of not more than 30 minutes, including presentation, experience, and reflection, but if you need more we will try to make this possible.
Suggestions for presentations:
- How did you introduce and/or implement Focusing in your institution or organizations?
- How Focusing helps a child, how you introduce Focusing to a child, how you use special ways of symbolization, problems you have encountered
- Focusing in special (life) situations/experiences
- How does Focusing with Children work, vignettes, experiences together?
- What kind of issues/problems/challenges are in this moment important to deal with?
Handout - not more than 1 page - done by the presenter, given to participants.
Structure for presentation, preferably following to the theme of the Conference and using the triangle of experiencing/modeling/conceptualizing (the moderator will help in keeping this model):
- time for presentation
- time for experiencing in which video-tapes or other material are very welcome
- time for “digesting”.
Steps of digesting: (if the presenter does not do this, the moderator will)
- start: going inside
- Reflecting in small groups:
- what did you recognize (similarities, differences) from your country, institution?
- what touched you/moved you in this presentation?
- sharing afterwards.
If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity all the information should be sent to to arrive before August 16, 2010.
This is the necessary deadline.
Any queries you may have can also be addressed to her or when you want to deliberate her how to make your presentation most effective. Please contact her as well if you want some other support from our organizing team.
